My background training is in the sciences having completed a BSC then a PHD in biochemistry. This was followed by five years medical research specialising in molecular genetics. Not finding fulfillment in this research I decided to retrain myself in an area about which I was more passionate. Choosing renewable energy as a means to combat global warming I expect to complete a 2 year Masters in Renewable Energy Technology at Murdoch University in June 2002.

My main focus is on appropriate policy to achieve greenhouse gas reductions, and how to have such policy implemented by Government. Since such policy extends beyond renewable energy to demand management and energy efficiency, these are now included in my main areas of interest.

|
|
|
In keeping with the significant employment and financial benefits for rural and regional areas offered by renewable energy generation, I have an interest in promoting development in such areas. I also have an interest in using such benefits to encourage Government to introduce appropriate policy.
